Trinity is Here and the next Parish Charity Lunch is next week!

What a difference between this week in our church, to last weekend’s very busy weekend. Gone were all the trappings of the Platinum Jubilee with all the brilliant flower arrangements from the many groups, clubs and even many of the local shops and businesses. The church has gone from being full of colour to back to it’s normal church background, in itself, not unattractive and being typical of many Parish Churches around the country. The service of Holy Communion on Sunday was conducted by the Rev Gillian Orpin standing in for our Rector. The Rev Gillian spoke further about Pentecost and also how different faiths regard their God at the head of their Faith, and she carefully analysed the differences between them, a very interesting topic. Next Sunday the morning service of Holy Communion will be conducted by another one of our retired priest friends, the Rev Ray Porter.

Our church groups, First Steps and Craft and Chatter, returned to their usual routines last Friday, following the Jubilee weekend break. The Parish Lunch for June. The next Parish lunch to support St John's Hospice, Moggerhanger will be held in St Mary's church hall on Friday 24th June at 12.45pm and on the last Friday of the month after this. The cost is £8 for a tasty two course meal and payment is taken at the door. Please support this enjoyable event for a very worthwhile cause. There are places available but if you haven’t been before but want to make sure of one, please call one of the numbers below. We also have a raffle and you can donate a prize if you wish. Food items must be in date, we do check and any cuddly toys must be spotless and if possible in the original wrapping.
