Rejoicing at Eastertide in our Benefice

Easter Flowers at St Mary's Church, Potton
After the gloom of last Saturday’s weather, it was good to see the Sun shining down on us on Easter Sunday. It certainly brought many along to our Easter Day Holy Communion service, conducted by the Rev Alex Wheating, and it was a service of Joy for everyone. However, unusually for such a service, we are still not allowed to sing and it was felt that recorded music would not have filled the gap so we are still to have a full service with choral singing from our own choir to look forward to in the coming weeks. We all look forward to a time when “normal” services will resume!
Many of the ladies of St Mary’s had decorated the church with beautiful flowers, something we have not seen for many months. Now the church is open for regular services, we will be able to enjoy fresh flowers at each weekly service once more. Many thanks to all those who helped with the Easter decorations.
The 10.30 services in the coming weeks will further follow the Easter story until the start of Pentecost in May. Full details will be given every week. However, until the Covid regulations are changed, we must still abide by the rules imposed upon us all, social spacing and the wearing of masks etc, but new people are always welcome to join us on any Sunday.
