Holiday Time!

A fairly quiet week in St Mary’s this week, it often gets like this when people start taking their holidays, but our numbers are made up by visitors to our area, coming along to meet and worship with us. The service of Holy Communion was today conducted by the Rev Ray Porter, another one of our retired priest friends, in the absence of the Rector but the Rev Alex Wheatley will be back to take next Sunday’s service of Choral Holy Communion which will include extra items sung by the church choir.

The Parish Lunch for June.

The next Parish lunch to support St John's Hospice, Moggerhanger will be held in St Mary's church hall on Friday 24th June, at 12.45pm. The cost is £8 for a tasty two course meal and payment is taken at the door. Please support this enjoyable event for a very worthwhile cause. There are places available but if you haven’t been before but want to make sure of one, please call the number below. We also have a raffle and you can donate a prize if you wish. Food items must be in date, we do check, and any cuddly toys must be spotless and if possible in the original wrapping.

We do need more people to help prepare a main course or dessert for the lunch, costs can be re-imbursed. If you can help or have any other queries about the lunch please contact Jane on 01767 260193.

At 8.15am on Friday 24th June we can hear our organist, Nick Wilson, giving his thought for the day on BigglesFM at 8.15am, 104.8 on the dial! This is not to be missed, there is always a lot of banter between Nick and Alan, the breakfast show DJ!

First Steps toddlers and baby group, will be meeting at 9.30am in the church hall in Hatley Road also on Friday, newcomers welcome. Enquiries to Sandy on 01767 260430. Our Craft and Chatter group of craft enthusiasts, will meet the same evening at 7.30pm also in the church hall. Newcomers are welcome, there is small fee to cover refreshments etc.
