The Week in our Benefice
The Morning Service last Sunday was the monthly shorter format Holy Communion, especially designed for children to understand about taking Communion by comparing items in their treasure boxes with what happens during elements of the actual service. The visiting Priest this week was the Rev Margaret Marshall who spoke of the Lost, and losing things during her interesting sermon. Next Sunday, the morning service is Holy Communion with the Rev Gillian Orpin.
Later last Sunday, Potton’s Annual Civic Service, conducted by our Associate Priest, the Rev Barbara Johnson, was held to thank and praise the work of the Town and District Councils and Councillors in and around Potton, the Emergency Services and other elements of our society who endeavour to give us the services needed to keep our Community safe and well organised. The service was followed by tea and cakes in the church hall. Presentations were made to long serving Councillors Alan Leggatt and Peter Langridge, with thanks from the Council Chairman, and all present.
